Ahmedabad’s Gen Z, counted
Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar together hold around 350 colleges and roughly 300,000 to 400,000 students, with Gujarat University’s commerce and science colleges in Navrangpura forming the mass and a ring of elite institutes, IIM Ahmedabad, CEPT, NID, MICA, DA-IICT, IIT Gandhinagar and PDEU, giving the city a design and management intake far larger than its size suggests.
Gujarati Gen Z is entrepreneurial by default. A surprising share of 18 to 26 year olds here are already running something, whether a family business account, a reselling page or a food stall, and they respond to brands that treat them as partners rather than consumers. They are also, by Indian metro standards, frugal, so free trials and sampling outperform discount codes.
The Ahmedabad map for 18 to 26 year olds
Navrangpura and the university area are the core: St. Xavier’s, HL College, LD Engineering and Gujarat University within walking distance of CG Road and Law Garden. The western belt along SG Highway and Prahladnagar is where the money and the cafes are, with Vastrapur lake, Alpha One and the Riverfront as the weekend. Nirma, Ahmedabad University and GLS sit on the western side; CEPT and NID are near Paldi and the university. Gandhinagar, 25 kilometres north, is its own cluster of DA-IICT, PDEU, IIT Gandhinagar and GNLU with a residential campus culture.
Night is when Ahmedabad Gen Z is most visible. Manek Chowk and Law Garden run late, Navratri turns the whole city into a nine-night event, and both are better sampling environments than any mall.

Ahmedabad’s year has two peaks. The academic year begins in June and July, Navratri falls in September or October, and the IIM, DA-IICT and IIT Gandhinagar fests cluster between January and March. Uttarayan in mid-January is a second city-wide moment that brands underuse.
Why brands pick us here
Ahmedabad is a city of brands as much as colleges, and the team behind GenZ Marketing has run Gujarat campus programmes for Bajaj Auto, TradingLeagues and ITC, with our 50K+ creator network including a Gujarati pool that most national agencies do not have. We also use Ahmedabad as the proving ground for MICA- and NID-style creative collaborations, because the students here are often the people who will end up working on your brand.
For a western India plan, Ahmedabad links to Mumbai and Pune on the one side and Indore and Jaipur on the other. If you are choosing a Gen Z marketing agency for Gujarat, our Gen Z marketing guide is the place to start.
