Indore by the numbers
Indore has roughly 200 colleges and somewhere above 200,000 students, which makes it the biggest student city between Pune and Delhi. DAVV’s campus and affiliated colleges around Bhanwarkuan and Khandwa Road provide the mass; IIM Indore, IIT Indore at Simrol, SGSITS and the medical colleges provide the prestige; Medi-Caps, Acropolis, IPS, Prestige and Symbiosis add large private intakes on the city’s edges.
Indore’s students come from across Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan, and most live in hostels and PGs. The city is also India’s cleanest by official ranking seven years running, and Indoris are proud of it in a way that shapes what they will and will not share about a brand.
Where Indore’s 18 to 26 year olds are
Bhanwarkuan is the student heart: DAVV, Holkar Science College, IET and a dense hostel and PG belt with cheap canteens and cafes. Vijay Nagar on the AB Road is the first-jobber and private-college side, with C21 Mall, Treasure Island and the Super Corridor IT offices nearby. IIM is on the Rau–Pithampur road; IIT is further out at Simrol; Medi-Caps and Acropolis are along the bypass. Everyone, student or not, ends up at Sarafa Bazaar after 9 pm or at 56 Dukan on a Sunday, which makes those two streets the best sampling locations in central India.
Indori Hindi, with its own slang and a self-deprecating humour, is the local creator language, and the city’s food creators have a national following. Rajwada and the Holkar heritage give content a backdrop the audience recognises instantly.

Why brands test Tier 2 in Indore with us
Indore is the city national brands use to learn whether a Tier 2 launch will work, and the team behind GenZ Marketing has run Indore programmes for Pee Safe, Unacademy and Bajaj Auto on exactly that brief. We keep a resident city lead and draw on 100K+ campus ambassadors across our network, which means an Indore pilot can be set up in days rather than weeks.
From Indore, programmes extend to Ahmedabad and Pune in the west or Jaipur in the north, covering the central corridor between the metros. If you are briefing a Gen Z marketing agency for a Tier 2 rollout, our Gen Z marketing guide explains the playbook.
